The web service SeeFile, which is designed for sharing media files, unveils its service for Apple’s iPhone with a free 5GB storage service. The web site is specifically designed for Apple iPhone’s 480×320 touchscreen. The graphics and the compact layout of the site is tailored to be easily navigable by Apple’s Safari web browser included in the iPhone. To ensure the highest compatibility, the service uses AJAX Web 2.0 recommendations for “iPhone-friendly” and it incorporates no Java code or Flash in the service.
The storage service hosts PDFs, Photos, Quictime videos and other file formats. It automatically generates a thumbnail of each and every file uploaded. Users can also order photo prints from the storage service with one-click ordering. SeeFile also supports multiple browsers from PC and Mac such as Firefox and Internet Explorer.
Users who want to run this service from their own computer can buy a software that is identical to SeeFile’s service. It offers the ability to access more media files such as videos, music, photos, and PDFs stored on remote location. You can buy both the software and compatible server to run the service from your own home for $995. The web service will go public on June 29th at 4PM Eastern Daylight Time.

The original Xbox 360 video game console had 90-days U.S. and Canadian warranty limit. Recently Microsoft Corp. has planned to extend the warranty to one year which will make it consistent with warranty offered in other countries and match the one-year warranty offered by other video game console companies: Wii by Nintendo Co. and the PlayStation 3 by Sony Corp.
Both the present and future owners of the Xbox 360 gaming console are eligible for the warranty. Xbox 360 customer can get reimbursed for paid repair bills given that they’ve owned the console for less than one year. This fall, Microsoft was sued since some Xbox 360 consoles were damaged from an online update.

Copies of Microsoft Office Word sold between 2000 through 2006 are infected with a contemporary security flaw which allows malicious hackers to seize control of users’ PCs through an email with a Word document attached.
On Tuesday, Microsoft Corp. issued a security advisory about the possible threat. Security “advisory” is considered less urgent threat compared to other security notification but the attacks are being investigated by the company.
Microsoft Office Word 2007, currently designed for businesses, is not exposed to malicious attacks. The company has not released a patch to address the problem as of Wednesday. A user can be a victim if he or she opens a Word document attachment in the e-mail. It is recommended that users refrain from opening or saving unknown attachments, even if it is from a friend.
Soon a free virtualized copy of Windows XP SP2 will be freely distributed by Microsoft so it can help developers switch IE6 programs to IE7. The only catch is the legit copy of the Windows XP will expire on April 1, 2007. You can download the PC image, with limited time, which comes with pre-activated copy of Windows XP Service Pack 2, IE6 and the IE7 Readiness Toolkit. Although Microsoft says it is the only solution to run both versions of Internet Explorer browsers together, there are other ways to run multiple versions of Internet Explorer together. Microsoft does not offer support for these installations.
Recently, Microsoft has made Virtual PC 2004 a freeware software along with the release of Windows XP Service Pack 1. The company hopes to make Virtual PC 2007 a free download utility with Windows Vista support service.
If you are interested in a free copy of Windows XP, you will need Virtual PC to open the PC image when it is available. The Internet Explorer team at Microsoft is working toward the shipment of VPC images along with the previous IE versions such as Internet Explorer 5 and Multilanguage.
Russia has agreed with U.S. Trade Representative for an acceptance into the Word Trade Organization in return to crack down on web sites that offer illegal downloads. In response, Russia has ordered Allofmp3.com to shut down the site as part of the general crack down on illegal web sites.
United States says the company does not have the proper consent of its copyright holders. Allofmp3.com argues that it pays royalties to the music industry through a Russian organisation making it in full compliance with the Russian copyright law.
There are many internationally based web sites like Allofmp3 which offers music download service, and are continually coming under pressure from other countries to shut down. Many movie studios and music labels companies agree that these kinds of sites do not have permission to sell music since they do not pay the copyright holders.
Although Internet Explorer 7 has been released, many users still use Internet Explorer 6 on their machine. For web developers, it’s a different story because the new IE7 modified few things which make sites have a different design in both IE6 and IE7 browser version. Using both Internet Explorer 6 and 7 might be useless to a normal user but very helpful to a web developer who needs to make sure his or her sites are compatible with different browsers.
To have both IE6 and IE7 version installed on your computer, you need to install the standalone versions of Internet Explorer. By that I mean there are automatic standalone IE installers that you can download and install to get different version of Internet Explorer running on your PC in no time. Here are the two possible download scenarios:
If you have installed IE7 on your computer and would like to install older versions of IE, you should download the Multiple IE installer. This program can install your choice of standalone IE3 IE4.01 IE5 IE5.5 and IE6.
If you already have Internet Explorer 6 installed and wish to install IE7 while keeping IE7 then you should download Internet Explorer 7 standalone Installer. Simply download and run the program and it will automatically install standalone IE7.
Intel Corp, world’s biggest computer chip producer, has unveiled its new quad core processors which promises to improve processing speed hugely over single or dual core processors. The recent new processors with multiple cores designate more complicated jobs at once on machines.
Intel also released four server processors under the Xeon 5300 series and another one under Core 2 Extreme. These processors are advantageous for programming, hard core gaming, and processor intensive application.
The new 5300 processor chips use the same amount of power but are capable of as much as four times faster than the previous single-core models. The Core 2 Extreme chip achieves up to 80% faster speed than previous single core processors. Intel’s competitor, AMD, hopes to release its own version of quad core revival in mid 2007.
