I use to have these problems in the past where my CD won’t eject from the CD drive once it’s in there. At first I thought the problem was with my computer but everything resumed correctly when I used a paper clip to reset the drive. Follow the suggestion below to solve the problem.
Look on the front of the CD drive and find a little tiny hole; it is usually located near the open / close button. The hole will be big enough to stick a paper clip’s end into it. Just straighten the paper clip or find other pointy object and push it into the small hole located on the CD-ROM. Make sure your computer or laptop’s power is on. If you are successful, the CD drive will instantly eject the CD. This will also make the drive work correctly once again. Sometimes it’s just the matter of CD being stuck.
Dell computers usually have a faceplate over the CD drive, so just remove the faceplate to find the tiny hole on the CD drive.
If the problem still persists, then it is time to replace you CD drive.
THANK YOU!!!! IT WORKED~~~~
I have the same problem but when i try to eject the drive i hear the drive try to eject the cd several times but it fails, then i use the paper clip to eject it. the problem only happens when the drive is empty, when theres a cd in it ejects normally
Thanks so much; problem fixed in seconds with your advice.
