How to Transfer Music From Old iPod Into New One

iPod PlaylistTo move the songs from your old iPod into new one, you have two options. Do it manually or download third party software that will do it for you. The Apple Company doesn’t want users to share music on internet so they make it hard for users to transfer songs onto computer.

Follow the directions below to do it manually:

    1) Make sure your iPod is plugged into your computer. Then go to My Computer and go into your iPod folder
    2) In the window menu option, click “Tools” -> “Folder Options” and click on the “view” tab
    4) Scroll down until you see the heading: “Hidden Files and Folders”
    5) Below the heading, click on “Show hidden files and folders” and click OK to exit out of that window

Now find the folder named “iPod Control” in your old iPod. Copy and paste the folder named “iPod Control” from your old iPod to your new one. You should first copy the folder onto Desktop and then transfer it into your new iPod. Remember to put your folder in the same exact place as your old iPod. If you are successful, you will see all your songs and playlists on your new iPod.

It is easier and faster to transfer songs from old iPod into new one manually. If you’re looking for help from third party software, then there are plenty of out there but most of them are NOT free. You should visit the download page for available software. Below is the list of free software:

This worked! Thanks for posting this. Copy the music files right into your Itunes music, and then sync your new ipod and all of the music that was copied into your Itunes will be copied into your new Ipod. Yeyyyy!!!

I have a new ipod that is empty. My old ipod has plenty of songs on it but is frozen. Is there a way that I can transfer songs from my old ipod to my new one even when the old one isn’t funtional? I can’t open any files or anything on the old one. All I can do is turn it on. It is not repairable but I want to keep the songs. What do I do?
